Where Care Flows is a celebration of the people, places, and acts of giving that make care possible.

Created for the Haematology Red Cell Unit at Queen's Hospital, the artwork honours the interconnected journey of patients, healthcare professionals, blood donors, families, and support teams. It reflects the unseen network of compassion, skill, and generosity that supports individuals through treatment, recovery, and moments of uncertainty.

At the heart of the piece is the flow of donated blood, a gift that connects one life to another. For many people living with conditions such as sickle cell disorder, blood cancers, inherited blood disorders, and other health conditions requiring transfusion support, donated blood plays a vital role in ongoing care and treatment.

Drawing from lived experience, the artwork acknowledges both the clinical and human sides of healthcare. The figures throughout the composition are intentionally universal, representing people of different ages, backgrounds, and experiences. Together, they form a visual reminder that care is never delivered by one person alone. It moves through many hands, many stories, and many acts of generosity.

Installed permanently at Queen's Hospital, Where Care Flows was created to bring warmth, dignity, and humanity into a space where so much is experienced. It stands as a tribute to everyone who gives, receives, and delivers care every day.
