Making the Invisible Visible

September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month, a time to spotlight a condition that is too often ignored, misunderstood, or left in silence.
Sickle cell is not rare. It’s real, it’s daily, and it’s lived by thousands of people in the UK alone. It’s pain that can’t always be seen, fatigue that doesn’t fade, and a fight that requires resilience most will never understand.
At Akanji Studio, we believe in transforming that pain into purpose. Through art, we make the invisible visible, stories of survival, resilience, and beauty in the midst of struggle.
This September, we’re inviting you to witness it for yourself.
Our exhibition will be showing at:
📍 Boxpark Croydon – 99 George Street, Croydon CR0 1LD
📍 Boxpark Shoreditch – 2-10 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6GY
Come stand with us. Come learn. Come experience art as healing.
Exhibition runs throughout September.
