Creative Healing with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity

Earlier this month, Akanji Studio partnered with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity to host a digital art workshop for children living with chronic illness.
The session invited each child to explore a personal emotion and turn it into digital art using tools like Canva AI and DALL·E blending imagination, emotion, and technology in a simple, empowering way.
One 9-year-old from London chose to explore the feeling “happy and peckish,” creating “a happy brown princess eating puff puff.”
After the session, she said:
“It made me feel better that I can make digital art.”
Her parent added:
“The ability to use her imagination and make it a reality really stood out. I was amazed by how quickly she picked up the prompts and how creative she can be.”
Every child completed an art piece by the end of the session.
One parent said they would love to attend again.
This is what our work is about, showing children that their imagination has power, and that creative tools can help them express emotions, build confidence, and find joy even in difficult moments.
Akanji Studio designs digital art experiences that combine emotional wellness, storytelling, and technology to help communities heal and create together.
